Kansas City, MO (Sports Network) - Safety DaJuan Morgan was among the most prominent players released by the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday, as the team reduced its roster to the 53-player maximum. Morgan played in 28 games as a Chief after being selected in the third round out of North Carolina State in 2008, including a pair of starts in the secondary a year ago. Page started in 39 of the 53 games he played in for the Chiefs over the first four seasons of his career, making 10 interceptions, registering 204 tackles and a sack. He also forced four fumbles and made three fumble recoveries.

Kansas City, MO (Sports Network) - Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Cameron Sheffield has been released from the hospital after suffering a neck injury in Friday's preseason game against Philadelphia. Sheffield, who has movement in all his extremities, suffered the injury in the third quarter of Friday's contest when he was involved in a helmet-to-helmet collision. He was then immobilized and carted off the field. Sheffield was a 2010 fifth-round pick out of Troy.

Kansas City, MO (Sports Network) - The Kansas City Chiefs have signed offensive lineman Jon Asamoah, one of their third-round picks in April's draft. Asamoah, a 6-foot-4, 305-pound guard, was selected 68th overall out of Illinois. He started 37 of 42 games for the Illini, and every game in each of his last three years. The 22-year-old was a second-team All-Big Ten selection as a senior.
