| Kansas City, MO (Sports Network) - Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Cameron Sheffield has been released from the hospital after suffering a neck injury in Friday's preseason game against Philadelphia. Sheffield, who has movement in all his extremities, suffered the injury in the third quarter of Friday's contest when he was involved in a helmet-to-helmet collision. He was then immobilized and carted off the field. Sheffield was a 2010 fifth-round pick out of Troy. |

| Kansas City, MO (Sports Network) - The Kansas City Chiefs have signed offensive lineman Jon Asamoah, one of their third-round picks in April's draft. Asamoah, a 6-foot-4, 305-pound guard, was selected 68th overall out of Illinois. He started 37 of 42 games for the Illini, and every game in each of his last three years.
